In yet another incident of poor security in Sessions Court, two lawyers were killed by their colleagues in an armed attack on Tuesday morning. Police officials said that lawyer Kashif Rajput opened indiscriminate fire at his cousin Rana Nadeem advocate outside the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Sheikh Toseer-ur-Rehman over a family dispute. They said one lawyer died on the spot while Awais Talib advocate succumbed to injuries at Mayo Hospital.

Following the incident, a heavy contingent of police reached the spot and cordoned off the area. They said the prime suspect Kashif Rajput has been arrested after registration of a murder case. The incident occurred when both the parties exchanged harsh words after hearing of a case, they added. It may be noted that panic griped the lawyer community after the incident and they held a strike in favor of their deceased colleague and demanded justice for him. Some lawyers transported the injured ones to the hospital before the arrival of ambulances.
